Frelimo’s manifesto: a cure for insomnia

The party's vague manifesto reflects its transitional state and its officials’ lack of grip

Good afternoon. Don't expect to see feverish discussion of ruling party Frelimo’s manifesto for the October elections in bars and on social media channels. The party’s manifesto, which was signed off on Friday, might have been designed as a cure for insomnia. It is similar in places to the manifesto for the 2019 elections, and most of it reads as a set of broad, bland aspirations, rather than concrete policies.
