An English High Court judge advised President Filipe Nyusi on Friday that he should be prepared to participate in the London ‘hidden debts’ trial in October after ordering a hearing to determine Nyusi’s immunity from court proceedings, to be held in August.
The trial will see the Republic of Mozambique attempt to seek damages from Credit Suisse, shipbuilder Privinvest and others for allegedly defrauding Mozambique of over $2 billion in state-backed loans which were not publicly declared.
