Mondlane-supporting Nampula imam says Sernic mistreated him

The imam, who denies a charge of vandalism, said that at one point he warned Sernic officers that they could kill him

A Muslim preacher, identified as a supporter of political figure Venâncio Mondlane, says that he was beaten and mistreated by law enforcement officers after being arrested last month by the National Criminal Investigation Service (Sernic).

Domingos Fernando was arrested on Friday 28 February by Sernic outside his mosque in the Natikir neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Nampula.
