Mondlane’s election bid promises interesting times

The chances of a closely contested election increase greatly if Venâncio Mondlane is allowed to stand, but so do the chances of violence

Good afternoon. We now know that Venâncio Mondlane is seeking to run as a candidate in October's presidential election, independently of opposition party Renamo — a party he now looks set to leave, after failing last week in his attempt to topple party leader Ossufo Momade.
