Mozambique rail company promises improvements on Beira-Zimbabwe line


Beira-Machipanda line had ‘only’ 46 derailments last year, having lost 80% of its traffic to road transport

The rail line running from the Mozambican port of Beira to Zimbabwe has lost 80% of its goods traffic to road transport over recent years due to the poor state of the line, according to an official at state rail company CFM, which is promising to rehabilitate the line this year.
