The worthless lives of Mucojo

The state is indifferent to whether innocent people die in its offensive against insurgents in Macomia district

Good afternoon. Reports that civilians are living alongside insurgents in the area of the Mucojo administrative post, in Cabo Delgado province’s Macomia district (see below), will not do anything to reduce the threat to the local population. Following a bombing raid by the Mozambican air force on the coast of Macomia on Sunday, where civilian casualties were reported, the district administrator, Tomás Bandae, said that the people remaining in Mucojo were collaborating with the insurgents, and that therefore it did not do any harm for them to die.
