The insurgents in Cabo Delgado province are making their conflict into more of a religious war

Good afternoon. The burning, in the last few days, of a Catholic mission church in the village of Mazeze reflects an increasingly religious character to the Islamic State (IS)-backed insurgency in Cabo Delgado province. It does not look like the insurgents attacked Mazeze because of the mission, but on the other hand, they were clearly selective about which buildings they attacked.
