Islamic-State backed insurgents have increased their attacks in Cabo Delgado province in the last week, killing villagers in the central district of Macomia, causing residents to flee from several districts in the centre and north, and on Wednesday 19 February, insurgents entered the village of Nkoe in Macomia district at around 3pm, reportedly from the Chai area, in what local sources described as large numbers.
