Both Frelimo and Renamo are in a struggle between the party leadership and those who want to broaden the choice of leader

Good afternoon. This week brings developments in the struggles for power in Mozambique's ruling party Frelimo and its main opposition party Renamo. Within Frelimo, senior politicians outside the camp of President Filipe Nyusi are pushing to have a discussion on the presidential candidate at this coming weekend's meeting of the party's Central Committee (see below).
